Tile Merge: slide, combine, reach 2048
Slide matching numbers together and chase the 2048 tile.
Slide every tile at once. When two equal numbers touch, they merge into their sum. A new 2 or 4 appears after every move, and the board fills fast β plan ahead and you'll reach the 2048 tile; get sloppy and you'll run out of space.
How to play Tile Merge
- Use arrow keys, WASD or swipe to slide all tiles in one direction.
- Two touching tiles with the same number merge into one.
- Each merge adds the new tile's value to your score.
- The game ends when no move can change the board.
Tips and strategy
- Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile there all game.
- Favor two directions (for example left and down) and use a third only when you must.
- Build a 'snake' of decreasing values along one edge so merges chain together.
- Avoid moves that pull your big tile out of its corner β an open corner fills with a 2 almost immediately.
About the game
Sliding-merge number puzzles became a global hit in the mid-2010s and have inspired countless variations. AllFun's version adds a one-step undo for those 'my thumb slipped' moments.
Frequently asked questions
Can you keep playing after 2048?
Yes. Keep merging toward 4096 and beyond until the board locks up.
How does undo work?
Undo reverses your last move once. It resets after you use it, so make it count.
Is the new tile placement random?
Yes β a random empty square gets a 2 (90% of the time) or a 4.
Where is my best score stored?
