FiveWord: the daily five-letter word game
Guess the hidden five-letter word in six tries. New word every day.
Part of the AllFun Daily β your streak: 0 days.
One hidden word. Six guesses. Colors tell you which letters are right, which are in the word but misplaced, and which aren't there at all. Everyone gets the same word each day, so you can compare results with friends β and practice mode lets you keep going after the daily is done.
How to play FiveWord
- Type any real five-letter word and press Enter.
- Mint tiles are the right letter in the right spot.
- Yellow tiles are in the word but belong somewhere else.
- Gray tiles aren't in the word at all.
- Use the clues to narrow it down β you have six guesses.
Tips and strategy
- Open with a word that uses common letters (E, A, R, T, O, S, L) and no repeats.
- Your second guess should test five new letters rather than lock in a single yellow.
- Remember double letters exist: if you're stuck, try a word that repeats a confirmed letter.
- Think in patterns β endings like -IGHT, -OUND and -ATCH have many neighbors, so test the first letter with a word that rules out several at once.
About the game
Letter-feedback guessing games go back to pencil-and-paper code-breaking contests, where one player hides a word and the other probes it with guesses. FiveWord is AllFun's own take: a curated list of everyday answer words (no obscure plurals) and a much larger dictionary of accepted guesses.
